Getting started
1. Create your workspace
Sign up with GitHub, Google or your work email and verify the address. Then top up your balance, from $30, with Stripe. Your workspace is created as soon as the payment goes through; nothing is charged before you confirm on Stripe's page. To try it first, start a free trial: $10 of usage for 14 days after a card check that charges nothing (see Billing).
2. Create an ingest key
In the app, open Settings > API keys and create an Ingest key. It is shown once: store it in your secret manager. Owners and admins create ingest keys. A Browser key is a separate, public key for front ends.
3. Send telemetry
Point any OpenTelemetry exporter at Flowhawk with the key as a bearer token:
OTEL_EXPORTER_OTLP_ENDPOINT=https://ingest.flowhawk.dev
OTEL_EXPORTER_OTLP_HEADERS=Authorization=Bearer%20<ingest key>
OTEL_SERVICE_NAME=orders
Or use a Flowhawk SDK, which also tags each span with its business flow and takes sampling and redaction settings from Flowhawk without a redeploy. See Sending data for each language, the browser and Sentry SDKs.
Prefer to have it done for you? Connect your coding agent to Flowhawk over MCP and ask it to set Flowhawk up: it installs the SDK in each service, drafts your business map and opens a pull request (how).
4. Map your flows
Open Setup in the app. Once traffic arrives, Flowhawk drafts your business map (flows and their steps, matched to routes), alerts for the important flows and a first dashboard. Review the drafts and accept what fits; every change is a reviewed, versioned config change you can undo.
5. Invite your team
Settings > Members: invite people as viewer, editor, admin or owner. There are no seat fees.
