Billing
How it works
- Your first top-up is at least $30; later ones from $10. Usage is taken from the balance at the prices below. A top-up stays valid for 12 months after your latest one.
- VAT or sales tax is added at checkout where it applies. Businesses can enter a VAT ID. Every top-up and auto-reload comes with an invoice.
- Settings > Usage shows the balance, this month's spend, a month-end forecast, every ledger entry and your invoices.
Free trial
- A new workspace can start with $10 of balance for 14 days, without paying. Stripe checks your card and charges nothing; we never charge it unless you top up.
- One trial per person, email address, card and company. Throwaway email addresses and prepaid cards can't start one.
- While on trial, a workspace sends up to 2 GB of telemetry a day, sends no on-call texts or calls, and the agent has a daily limit.
- When the $10 or the 14 days run out, new telemetry and the agent pause; your data stays readable. Top up from $30 to carry on with everything as it is. Without a top-up, the workspace is deleted 30 days after the trial ends.

Keeping spend predictable
- Spend cap: a monthly limit. When it's reached, new telemetry is refused and the agent pauses until next month or until you raise it. On-call pages keep going out.
- Auto-reload: "when the balance drops below $X, add $Y" with your saved card.
- Owners get an email when the balance runs low, when it reaches zero, when ingest stops, when the cap is reached and when an auto-reload fails.
When the balance runs out
A grace period of about one day of your usual spend keeps everything running. After that, new telemetry is refused (HTTP 429) and the agent pauses until you top up; ingest resumes within a minute. Data already stored stays readable until its retention ends.
Invoices, card and company details
Owners open Settings > Usage > Manage billing to download invoices and change the card, the billing email, the company name and address and the VAT ID.
Refunds and leaving
There is no subscription. To stop, delete the workspace (how). Unused balance isn't refunded, except as the terms describe; write to hello@flowhawk.dev if something went wrong.
