Flowhawk docs

How to set up Flowhawk, send it data and use it day to day.

Flowhawk is an observability tool built around your business flows, such as sign-up, checkout and payouts. It stores your traces, logs, metrics, errors and sessions and ties each one to the flow it belongs to. When an alert fires, you get one page that shows what broke, how many customers it affected and the most likely cause.

  • Getting started walks you through signing up, topping up, creating a key and sending your first trace.
  • Sending data covers any OpenTelemetry SDK, the Flowhawk SDKs, the browser, Sentry SDKs, and setup by your coding agent over MCP.
  • Language guides show how to send from Node.js, Python, Java, Go, .NET, Ruby and PHP with standard OpenTelemetry, or through a collector.
  • Business flows explains what a flow is, what the business map holds, and how requests are matched to flows and steps.
  • Coding agents and MCP shows how to connect Claude Code, Cursor and others, let them set Flowhawk up, and what they may do.
  • Alerts, incidents and on-call explains how alerts fire, what an incident page shows, and how paging and status pages work.
  • Config as code describes the YAML files behind flows, alerts and dashboards, and the diff, preview and undo that come with every change.
  • Billing is about the prepaid balance, prices, the spend cap, auto-reload and invoices.
  • Your data and privacy covers how long we keep data, redaction, and how to export or delete it.
  • Help and troubleshooting is for when no data shows up or telemetry is refused, and says how to reach us.
